Premium Portuguese tiles, only in the Channel Islands

Tilenyte is a tile and building materials showroom in St Peter, Jersey. It is the only place in the Channel Islands to buy Margres, Gresart and Love Tiles, three porcelain ranges from Portugal, and it sells Secil building materials alongside them. Homeowners, architects, designers and contractors all buy there.

The founders came from the granite trade. Customers kept asking whether they did tiles, so they wound that business down and built Tilenyte around the answer. Their old website gave no sense of any of this. It looked like every other supplier on the island.

We started with the brand: a mark made of four tiles, a palette taken from stone and sand, and a serif and sans pairing for type. Then we designed the site in Figma, in both a light and a dark direction, and built the chosen one in Webflow with CMS collections for tiles, building materials and catalogs, so the team adds products without a developer.

Problem

The old site had no clear hierarchy, so visitors had to work to find anything. Sections didn't connect to each other and there was no obvious path from browsing to visiting the showroom.

It also looked generic. A few images and a static layout made a premium tile supplier look like any other local shop.

Solution

The new site leads with the product. Large photography, plenty of white space and a clear order on every page take visitors from the collections to a showroom visit.

Tiles and building materials each get landing, category and detail pages, with filters by space and effect, and the catalogs are a grid of PDF downloads.

01Brand identity

A brand made of tiles

The mark is four tiles set on an angle, the same shape that repeats across the site and the printed pieces. The palette runs from Soft Black to Ivory Mist through Stone Taupe, Roasted Mocha, Cocoa Dust and Sand Dune. Hedvig Letters Serif sets the headlines and Manrope sets everything else.

02Website

Built to get people into the showroom

Every page points to the same next step: visit the showroom in St Peter or take a sample home. The homepage names the problem Tilenyte solves, shows the three collections, and covers specifiers and contractors with their own sections.

The same system off the screen

Business cards, the catalog cover, tote bags, posters and a showroom A-frame all use the same mark, palette and tile pattern as the website.

Tilenyte began with a simple question we kept hearing while running Granite Solutions Direct: "Do you do tiles?" At the time, we didn't, but growing demand for porcelain tiles in Jersey, paired with limited local options, revealed a clear gap.

We saw that premium, Europe-specified tiles weren't accessible locally. So we made a shift. Granite Solutions Direct was wound down, and Tilenyte was created, combining Tile (porcelain) and Nyte (granite) as a nod to our roots.

Our mission is clear: to bring high-quality European tiles to Jersey, for anyone who values well-designed spaces.
